Friday

It is 6Age.AM and we have been up for ages. We are having trouble with the time change. Cam keeps getting poked and prodded. He gets about 5 different IV's a day. Today he is having a port put in as he is impossible to find a vein in him. Monday we meet with all the doctors to design on the plan. he also sees a PT, CT and TCM person every day. There is something going on every minute.

On a lighter note Chris and I went to Walmart. It is quite a place, many free sample including Absolute Vodka. Many types of meat hanging around. We also took a long walk. We are very surprised that the sidewalks don't have many people and and are very clean. There are flowers everywhere. i guess they are new for the olympics. Saturday Chris and I are going to the Great Wall and Ming tombs. Our Skpe works great over here so we are able to talk to the grand kids whenever we want. it is fun to see them. The food is okay. i already miss home food.

Hi Miriam!
I'm impressed with the blog...you're doing a great job being chatty!
Telling you to 'have a good time' seems lame, but it sounds like you're making the best of it.
All my paws are crossed for the procedures.

Miriam-
I do not have as many paws as Teri-but know that mine are crossed also-
There is probably a McDonalds nearby-especially when the Olympics start-and maybe even a Starbucks--soon you will feel more at home-the people will be most helpful-eager to speak English with you and give you directions!
My first blog experience-
Wonderful to hear from you-thinking of you

Hi Miriaam, Cam & Chris,

Am trying for the third time to send this . If it doesn't work will revert to old fashioned e-mail cause can't figure blogging out. Sounds like everything going well. Hope it continues. Glad you don't have to speak Chinese to communicate. Your pictures are great. Keep up the good work.

Dear Miriam,

I enjoyed the photos and the news of everything you are doing. Hope that this will be a good treatment for Cam. The homes of the people are fascinating and the hospital and the stores etc. Thanks for sending us the news about your blog and we hope to keep up with the stem cell work that they will be doing there. The pict of Cam is good too. I will tell Mel and Bill that I am following you guys.

I go to Idaho tomorrow and I will check in again when I return . What an adventure you are having.

Sincerely, Ruth Tyler

Hello Mariam, Cam, & Chris,

We are in the Arkel Museum at Canajoharie, NY (about 70 miles west of Albany). Excellant collection of Homers and a nice display of three generations of Wyeth paintings.

Escaped the boat for a day of poking around. Will rejoin Steve and the others just west of Seneca Lake later today. Trip down Long Island Sound, around Manhatten, and up the Hudson was great. So far have passed through 22 of the 34 locks on the Erie Canal.

Thanks for the updates. By the way, was the chicken in the alley served for dinner?

All our very best to Cam, you, and Chris,

Deb, Annalise, & Fred
